Make some extra money on duplicate or unused household items you have at home that are gathering dust and at the same time, create extra space!
Be honest and admit any buyer’s remorse you may have. Anything you do not use or do not love can make you money if it is in decent shape.

Timing is everything – look out for the increasingly popular ‘car boot’ sales where you sell items out of the trunk of your car; perfect if you do not have a garage or yard to sell from. Hopefully, you will attract a good crowd so price your items to sell. If you price them too high, you will just be packing them up to take home again. If you are fortunate enough to have a garage, try to persuade some neighbours in your street to hold a garage sale too. If bargain-hunters know there are a few houses together selling, they are more inclined to visit your street. Use social media to advertise, post signs with balloons for greater impact!
